Hot Water Systems

Domestic

Hot water is taken for granted in every household situation. It is one of the largest proportional energy costs in the majority of domestic cases (up to 60% of total home energy use) yet one that we also expect to be reduced to a minimum.

Efficient hot water systems are a key element of our business and can be integrated into central heating systems or stand-alone hot water supply systems.

The type of hot water system should be based on the amount of hot water required within a specific timeframe eg: hourly/daily/weekly and should also consider the fuel source to be used economically and environmentally. Progressive Energy offers a range of high quality, low maintenance hot water system with solar, heat pump and instantaneous/continuous flow gas systems options.

RECS Rebates and BASIX Certification

Whether you are building a new home, renovating or looking to replace your existing hot water system, you should consider an energy efficient water heater. This costs much less than most people think and that the savings amount to thousands of dollars over the life of the system.

BASIX Certification requires an energy efficient hot water system in all new builds and renovations. Depending on the unit select you may also be eligible for a Government Incentive (RECS) Rebate.

Solar Hot Water

A solar hot water system is a great long-term investment that has a guaranteed returned and will pay for itself in as little as 5 years.

How It Works...

Mounted on the roof, the solar collector consists of a thin, flat, rectangular box with a transparent cover that faces the sun. Small tubes run through the box and carry the water to be heated. The tubes are attached to an absorber plate, which is painted black to absorb the heat. As heat builds up in the collector, it heats the water passing through the tubes. The storage tank then holds the heated water, ready for you to use.

You only need to use a gas or electric booster to heat the water on days when the sun refuses to shine. That way you're always guaranteed plenty of hot water but very few energy bills.

Commercial
Progressive specializes in commercial hot water situations including restaurants/motels/clubs/caravan parks. Our objective is to provide hot water solutions for peak hot water demands with temperature stability and achieve cost effectiveness through use of high performance components and the most cost efficient energy sources available to the client/facility.

Tailored energy efficient hot water solutions can offer a reduction in running costs by 35-50% plus over traditional systems by:

Reducing heat losses
Eliminating wasted energy and water associated with conventional systems
Long life expectancy
Instantaneous and sustained hot water delivery
Easily adapted post-installation to alternative heat sources eg: electricity/solar
